Light Up A Life
Each year Optimal Hospice Foundation hosts several local remembrance celebrations throughout California during the month of December and invites the community to sponsor a light on a tree in memory of a loved one or to honor someone living. All proceeds from light sponsorships help provide hospice services in the local community.
Ceremonies include a tree lighting, music by local musicians and the reading of memorial names by hospice nurses and volunteers. During this time of reflection, the heartfelt messages of poems and verses often provide peace and comfort. My First Christmas In Heaven is a special poem for those experiencing the holidays for the first time without their loved one.
